Now companies like IBM and Cisco are using virtual worlds like Second Life in business applications.
This technology could prove to be incredibly useful for startups. When first starting a company, you don't always have an office and you don't always have all of the members in one place. This can solve as a solution for that problem Do you think that a company could thrive sustainably from just virtual meetings?

This is really interesting. I always thought the virtual world does not have professional atmosphere compared to the real world.
ReplyDeleteActually my cousin runs a start-up company in Boston, MA. I remember that he was struggling to find a space for meetings. He told me that they went to different fast food restaurant and coffee shops to have meetings. I personally do not know if he knew about Second Life. Or maybe he preferred having face-to-face meeting rather. I agree with you that this technology will be incredibly useful for start-ups. However, I would not mind having a meeting at Starbucks since start-up companies usually do not have many employees. Moreover, I like the atmosphere of coffee shop personally.
